Health@theHut Project

The project aims to improve the health and wellbeing of local people by improving their diets, becoming more physically active, increasing their social networks and learning how to manage their own health. We will support young people to make healthy changes to their lifestyles, parents to pass on healthy eating habits to their children and older people will improve their fitness and confidence to continue living independently.  We aimed to achieve the following project outcomes:

  • Young people will improve their physical and mental health and be more informed about how to sustain healthy lifestyles
  • Older people will feel physically healthier, better able to manage long term health conditions and increase their social networks
  • Parents and children will have healthier diets, spend more time taking part in activities together and feel less socially isolated
  • Local residents will have improved confidence and leadership skills and be more connected with different community groups
