Haringey Community and Voluntary Sector Expo celebrates the tireless and exemplary work that Haringey’s volunteers, local charities and community groups offer our community.

The Haringey Expo is the annual occasion to showcase the work of Haringey’s diverse community groups, to engage on important issues, and to bring together Haringey officials, residents and volunteers.

Event Programme

Exhibitions (11am – 4pm)

The exhibitions will involve displays and stalls in the main hall demonstrating the wide range of community services and activities and guests can have taster sessions and/or register for them.

Panel discussions (1pm – 3.15pm)

The panel discussions in the side hall will give guests opportunities to hear from local experts and decision makers on two topics that local people are keen to address:

1pm-2pm: Haringey Giving and Resilience – how can we support residents to improve their lives?

Haringey Giving is a new and independent initiative to enable people to give time, talents and funds to local good causes, and to take action on the things that matter to them. How can residents, organisations and businesses come together to take practical actions to improve the lives of residents?

2.15pm-3.15pm: Safeguarding and modern slavery – how can we identify and address problems?

Safeguarding is about protecting children, young people and adults who are at risk from abuse or neglect. Modern slavery commonly involves people being trafficked into forced labour in industries such as agriculture, construction, hospitality, manufacturing, car washes and sexual exploitation. Modern slavery is reportedly thriving in the UK. How can we make safeguarding everyone’s responsibility and tackle modern slavery?
