2022-2026 Pan London Grants Programme

London Councils is calling for proposals for a new four-year programme, which will deliver services from April 2022 to March 2026. The programme focuses on two priorities:

- Combatting homelessness
- Tackling domestic and sexual abuse

Organisation type: Constituted not for profit organisations that are able to work across more than one London borough

Grow Back Greener Fund

Grants are available to community projects across the capital that will improve access to green space and help us adapt to climate change.

Priority will be given to projects that work with, or are preferably led by, Londoners who are less likely to access green space. This includes BAME Londoners, lower-income Londoners, and people aged 65 and over.

Grant size:£10,000 - £75,000
Funding covers: Activities that take place in and enhance publicly accessible spaces including parks, community gardens, housing estates, streets, school playgrounds, waterways and nature reserves. They should mainly be focused on making physical improvements to the space.
Organisation type: Applications must be from a formally constituted organisation that has an organisational bank account and is able to enter into legal contracts.

Help the Homeless

Grants up to £5,000 to support medium-sized charities working to assist homeless people in their return to mainstream society.

Organisation size: small and medium-sized charities with an annual turnover of under £1m

The Smiles Fund by Walkers and Comic Relief

They are seeking proposals from organisations who share their belief that the arts and comedy can help start conversations and support positive outcomes for people’s mental wellbeing.

Grant size: In general they will not award funding to organisations that is more than an average of 2/3 of their annual income per year.
Organisation size: predominantly funds registered charities with minimum annual income of £250,000. Partnership applications are welcomed.

2022 GSK IMPACT Awards & GSK Grow Programme

The GSK IMPACT Awards provide funding, training and development for charities doing excellent work to improve people’s health and wellbeing. Up to 20 awards will be made, ranging from £4,000 to £50,000. In addition, the training and development is valued at a further £9,500. Organisations will also have a film made, receive help with press and publicity, and be given a set of promotional materials.

The 2022 GSK IMPACT Awards are open to registered charities that are at least three years old, working in a health-related field in the UK, with a total annual income between £120,000 and £3 million. Apply here

GSK Grow Programme is open to registered charities that are at least a year old, working in a health-related field in the UK, with a total annual income of between £20,000 and £120,000. Up to 10 charities will receive £10,000 in unrestricted funding plus training and development valued at £3,200. Up to five runner-up charities will receive £1,000. Apply here

KFC Community Grants Programme

KFC will fund work that helps young people aged 11-25 years old to create firm foundations, by addressing their needs through early intervention.

Grant size: up to £2,000
Organisation size: registered charities, registered CIC, unincorporated clubs or associations or unregistered charities with a turnover of less than £300,000.

The Hedley Foundation

The Trustees seek to help and improve the quality of life of people in the UK, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Grant size: up to £5,000
Organisation size: small to mid-size UK registered charity
Beneficiaries or area of work: Young people, disabled people, elderly people, the terminally ill and otherwise disadvantaged people and their carers.

Culture Recovery Fund

Emergency funding awards to culturally significant organisations that were financially sustainable before Covid-19 but are now at imminent risk of failure and have exhausted all other options for increasing their resilience.

Grant size: between £25,000 and £1 million
Organisation size: Registered charities, CICs, CIOs,
Organisation type: organisation must have been properly constituted, and registered on or before 1 May 2019
Deadlines: Applications are subject to permission to apply being granted, at which point applications must be made within 5 working days. The deadline to apply request is 12pm (midday) on 30 September 2021.

Leeds Building Society

The Foundation primarily provides funding towards practical items that directly support those in need including those with disabilities, affected by homelessness, or with serious health issues.

Grant size: between £250 and £1000
Organisation size: registered charities with a turnover of less than £1m

The D’Oyly Carte Charitable Trust

The D’Oyly Carte Charitable Trust funds work on the fields of the advancement of the arts, health and medical welfare and environmental protection or improvement.

Grant size: between £500 - £6,000. The majority grants are single grants over a one-year period.
Decision timescale: The next grant-making meeting will be held on 17th November 2021 and the outcome will be notified to all applicants shortly thereafter.

Asda Foundation - Bringing Communities Back Together Grant Phase 2

There are three options within this grant. Groups must choose between:

  • Celebration Event - such as a Welcome Back Party or Community Celebration
  • Getting Activities Back on Track - such as Gardening Clubs, Lunch Clubs, Sporting Groups & recreational activities
  • Essential Support - such as Community Food/Hygiene Banks, Mental Health Awareness Groups and Homeless Shelters

Grant size: between £500 and £1000
Length: activities must take place between 1st October and 31st December 2021 (including Christmas)
Organisation type: Charities, CIC, unincorporated club or association & small community groups.

Mayor of London - Sport Unites Fund

The Sport Unites Fund is for projects that use sport and physical activity to address one or more of these priorities:
- Helping the most inactive people be more active
- Improving people’s mental health and wellbeing
- Decreasing isolation/loneliness
- Strengthening connections in your local area and across communities
- Reducing serious youth violence
Grants of up to £50,000 are available for projects taking place between summer 2021 and June 2022 across two grant streams: New Ideas and Tried & Tested.
