The Bridge Summer Fest 2022 brought together 450 people for a day of fun at the Chestnuts Community Centre. The free event took place on Thursday 18 August 2022 and it was a celebration of the local community, grassroots services, health and wellbeing.

At the event, families had the opportunity to engage in activities offered by the Bridge and community groups who utilise the Centre. Activities included fitness taster sessions, massage, health checks, Arts and Crafts with Sewn Together, and drumming workshop led by Astehmari Batekun. The food was cooked by our Health@theHut team, which offers weekly cooking classes to the community.

In addition, attendees had the opportunity to discover other services offered by Haringey community groups by visiting their stalls.

We were pleased to receive Cllr Gina Adamou - The Mayor of Haringey, Cllr Lester Buxton - Deputy Mayor of Haringey, Cllr Tammy Hymas – St Ann’s Ward and Cllr Michelle Simmons-Safo – Seven Sisters Ward, to the event and hear some inspiring words about our communities. This was our first big event since the pandemic hit and we were delighted to see our community together again and exploring some of the amazing activities that our local community groups have to offer.

We would like to thank everyone who attended: stall holders, activity providers and local residents, and helped make this such a fantastic day!
