Home Cooked is a violence reduction programme being co-produced and delivered by the community in the Tottenham Hale ward. It aims to support neighbourhoods affected by high levels of youth violence and to help develop trust and collaborations between local communities, stakeholders, key local institutions, and statutory partners.

Home Cooked Grant Panel

We are seeking six grant panel members for the third round of the Home Cooked Community Fund.

The fund aims to support project and activities by grassroot organisations which will benefit the needs of the Tottenham Hale ward and meet the Home Cooked criteria. As a Grant Panel member, you will decide how funding gets distributed and help the community groups who need it the most.

We want to hear from young people, especially those with lived experiences of youth violence. We also want to hear from parents, carers, people from all walks of life and those from under represented groups to apply for this role.

The role will include:

  • Attending online meetings (via Zoom)
  • Reading through applications prior to meetings
  • Inclusive decision making

Requirements:

  • A local resident
  • Good literacy skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Some experience of community development and/or community engagement
  • Access to the internet due to attending online meetings and receiving applications and training

The Grant Panel members are expected to work as a peer group and each member will have equal say. You will be supported by colleagues from the Bridge Renewal Trust who will administer the process and provide training.

Time requirements:

You will be required to attend training and grant panel meetings during a period of one month in June/July 2023. Date and time for each session will be agreed with you in advance. We expect no more than four sessions, which will depend on the number of received applications.

What do I get from this?

- You will play a part in a worthwhile local initiative delivered by the Bridge Renewal Trust and the programme’s partners which is funded by the London Mayor’s Violence Reduction Unit.

- Your skills, experiences and knowledge will inform the Grant Panel’s discussion and decision making, and your voice will be crucial in the decision making process.

- You will meet new people and extend your networks.

- You will give something back to your local community.

You will receive a £50 gift voucher of your choice for your efforts and contribution.
