The Community Fund Grant Panel Are you a resident from the Tottenham Hale Ward? Are you concerned with the level of violence in your community? Do you want to have your say and do something about it? Are you interested in working with a group, including young people to help achieve a stronger, safer and more inclusive Tottenham Hale? Well, we would like to hear from you! Who are we: The Bridge Renewal Trust are leading on a consortium with Mind in Haringey, Father2Father, The Godwin Lawson Foundation and the North London Partnership Consortium (NLPC). We have been awarded £750,000 funding (April 2021- March 2023) by the Mayor’s London Violence Reduction Unit to tackle serious youth violence in the Tottenham Hale Ward area. The programme: Home Cooked is a violence reduction programme being co-produced and delivered in the Tottenham Hale ward. It aims to support neighbourhoods affected by high levels of violence, as well as increasing trust and collaboration between local communities, stakeholders, key local institutions, and statutory partners. In order to do so, we will work with local residents to develop a shared understanding of the issues and prioritise activities that can be funded to build a stronger, safer and more inclusive Tottenham Hale. The Community Fund: We have a pot of funding worth £187,500 over two years and are currently looking for residents from all over the Tottenham Hale Ward to join the Community Grant Panel to help us agree suitable grassroots projects to be funded. We want to hear from young people too, especially those with lived experiences of youth violence. We also want to hear from parents and people from all walks of life including ethnic background, gender, faith, disabilities and others. How long is the panel expected to last? The programme will end in March 2023. During this time, you will need to be available to attend training and grant panel meetings as agreed.. What do I get from this? As well as being a part of a brand-new initiative by the Violence Reduction Unit, you will have the opportunity to acquire new skills or build on existing skills gained through training and grant assessment. You will also play a key role in supporting initiatives to reduce youth violence in your area. Expenses: As a valued volunteer, your travel and refreshment expenses will be reimbursed.
